Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare for the mine transport systems and production equipment implementation
   • Access, interpret and apply mine transport systems and production equipment implementation documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
   • Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
   • Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues and implement control measures
   • Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
   • Identify the purposes of the site transport systems and production equipment
   • Access and interpret the specifications for the required production equipment and transport systems
   • Identify, clarify, in consultation, and communicate roles and responsibilities of individuals and work teams
   • Identify training needs and develop training plans
   • Access and interpret site systems requirements
   • Access and review, operational and emergency procedures
2. Implement systems for installation and commissioning
   • Identify and address hazards and risks associated with the installation and operation of production equipment and transport systems
   • Implement emergency response and evacuation plans and procedures
   • Integrate new and existing work systems and processes to achieve required outcomes
   • Implement standard operating procedures
   • Implement site production and transport installation and commissioning procedures
   • Implement the training plans
   • Commission equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and site procedures
   • Assess the need for modification to equipment and systems arising from the commissioning process, and report findings
3. Implement systems for the operation and maintenance of transport systems and production equipment
   • Implement procedures for the operation of production equipment and transport systems
   • Implement reporting and recording systems
   • Implement procedures for reviewing and modifying work processes
4. Implement systems for audit and review
   • Audit production equipment and transport systems standards for compliance with legislative and site requirements
   • Audit production and transport maintenance standards for currency and compliance with legislative and site requirements
   • Audit systems and equipment for compliance with legislative and site requirements
   • Audit emergency response and evacuation plans and procedures for compliance with site requirements
   • Audit reporting and recording systems for production and transport equipment for compliance with legislative and site requirements
   • Audit the training program for currency, relevance and compliance with site requirements

Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

implements procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient implementing of mine transport systems and production equipment including:

providing team leadership

identifying and addressing training needs

implementing hazard identification and risks assessment processes

managing work planning and coordination activities

accessing, interpreting and applying manufacturer’s instructions

implementing maintenance and modification surveys and audits

applying the transport systems and production equipment management procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the implementation of mine transport systems and production equipment including:

managing people and processes

resolving conflict

coordinating human, financial and physical resources

developing, initiating and administering work plans

interpret and apply operational performance data engaging

engaging internal and external stakeholders

demonstrates completion of implementing of mine transport systems and production equipment that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:
